  well i said i wouldn't watch the game but i changed my mind.. ok it was only a friendly, but i have come here to gloat our victory.

  usa were poor.. i was impressed with the england fans not booing the american national anthem, sung beautifully by kelly rowland.

  a bit different to the ricky hatton fight in vegas.

  as a jw we were always told worldly people were bad always out for what they could get out of you.

  as for me iv'e made some good friends not anything as bad as the jw's said they woul'd be.

  I have found the most amazing people in the ‘world’. The dynamics are very different to life as a JW. I think that it takes a lot longer for people to trust and accept you, but when they do then it seems to have more depth. But I am still learning how it all works. But it is nothing near as bad as I have been lead to believe….

  What amazes me is how moral and principled some of them are. I had to work quite hard and listen very intently to get to the required standards while a JW. It didn’t come easy for me at all. But some of the people outside of JW’s have these wonderful attributes naturally. I have such an admiration for them as people. They just have things innately. There are a lot of tossers out there also, but like someone has said, there is the same spectrum of people in the ‘world’ like there was in the ‘truth’.

  The society are wrong to vilify the world when they are like they are……They need to start ‘in house’ first.

  Liberal feminism has been around as long as feminism itself, but like I said earlier, gains the least publicity. Squeaky wheel gets the oil etc.

  Again Brinjen, I very much agree with you. That is exactly what has happened, and now because everyone is focusing on that "squeaky wheel" it is those attitudes that are becoming the most predominant because of the publicity and therefore the causation of the harm I was referring to……

  The original cause I don’t have a problem with at all. Very much in agreement. But what has it become and how many people has it hurt…….?? women more so…..

  That's what I mean by too much attention on radical feminism, the kind you just described who, personally, I think shouldn't even be given the time of day. But that's the kind too many think of when you mention 'that' word.

  I do agree with you Brinjen. But do you think that those kind of Feminists are just the end result of the evolution of the movement…..???

  I'm for equal rights for both sides, take each person as an individual rathr than stereotyping.

  But is this not the complete opposite of the ethics of the movement, being that it is only focusing on womens rights

  P.S. I love the way that this thread has turned into a discussion about feminists.

  I really think that it would be as pointless as trying to prove god to an atheist. That kind of debate would need some serious open mindedness with no one trying to prove a preconceived agenda.

  But a study into social sciences is really recommended.

  Personally, I am in for treating women very well. That is why I have a lot of them as friends. But often I bump into the fruitage of a die hard feminist attitude with some women, and I would say that it is just pure arrogance, the self same animal as male chauvinism. I can’t bare either. But the die hard feminist can only derive from a moderate. Things then perpetuate and bingo.
